The ChallengeIn the event of mass demonstrations, protest rallies, traffic congestions at important street locations in the City of Salt Lake, Sector V & Rajarhat senior police officials located in the Police Control Room (PCR), where unable to asses the situation effectively and instruct field officers accordingly since they could not acutally see what was going on at the place of occurance. Wireless audio feedback was the sole mode of communication. In order to convey more effective instructions to the field officers to handle the situation, real time video images of events, is of prime importance to police administration in the Police HQ. |
The SolutionState of the art Mega-Pixel IP Cameras a total of 52, with a mix of PTZ & Fixed Type Cameras are installated at 32 strategic locations within Salt Lake, Sector V & Rajarhat. Each of these remote locations are equipped with Fixed Type Megapixel or Pan/Tilt/Zoom Day Night Camera with outdoor weather proof IP 66 enclosures on standard 7 mtr poles and connected to the Police Control Room at Salt Lake. At the PCR in Salt Lake, all the camera images are monitored on large screen monitors & recorded 24×7 with the help of the open platform centralised software installed in the high end servers. The movement of the camera can be controlled (Pan, Tilt & Zoom), live images of events can be recorded, and the recorded images can be played back with great ease from the PCR.
